Sung an estimated 10 million times each year, "Amazing Grace" was born not of American Black spirituals as some believe, but across the Atlantic, in the tiny English market town of Olney, some 60 miles north of London, with lyrics older than the Declaration of Independence.
John Newton, a slave trader who eventually became a minister, penned the famous words of "Amazing Grace" for a sermon for his 1773 New Year's service at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.
“Amazing Grace” was a partial reflection of John Newton’s own self-perception at the time and his ultimate transformation into a man of faith.
Near the end of his life, Newton worked to help abolish the slave trade in England.
Forgiveness and redemption are possible, may humanity finally wake up and see…

As a mother, the hardest aspect of our current reality is how it affects children. I have been able to shield my own kids to a large degree but as they grow up it becomes increasingly more difficult.
For years I’ve had discussions with people and friends about protecting my children against external influences. The majority of parents believe one must expose kids to the world so they toughen up and learn to fend for themselves. In a normal, healthy world, that would seem reasonable. But we don’t live in such a world, (at least not yet).
I chose to keep my children in as much of a bubble as I possibly could. Why would I want them exposed to the insanity, the non-sensical, the depravity, the materialism and the narcissism that plagues our world?
In the same way that we train soldiers before sending them off to war, I wanted to arm my children with strong foundations, principles, common sense, empathy, strength and morality before letting them off into the societal jungle of twisted values, upside down priorities and lack of principles that we live in.
But for that I had to shelter them from the tsunami of evil influences that surrounds us, I had to control as much as possible what they saw, read, heard, ate and who they interacted with, to make sure their wonderful, innate, loving and happy disposition was not tampered, tainted or contaminated.
It’s not been easy, but I have always tried my best and it fills me with pride and joy to watch them grow with their inner light intact.
Being a parent should not have to be this difficult, we should not have to be on guard constantly, we should not live in a world were children are under attack 24/7 from every possible angle.
They want to destroy the most sacred, the most precious, the most beautiful representation of humanity and the divine: childhood.
My strength, my resolve, my power and my faith, all come from my relentless and unyielding will to make this world a better place for every child in this world.
I know that all of you, whether you are parents or not, are with me on this. We have to win for them, defeat is not an option.
