The bateleur eagle (Terathopius ecaudatus) is an African bird of prey. Although they spend most of the day hunting, they can also feed on carrion. One remarkable aspect of their appearance is their extremely short tail and the red skin on their face and legs. This skin turns a more intense red color when the bird is excited. However, the characteristic for which they are best known is their great ability to perform acrobatics while flying, which they do together with their partners, and their strange territorial displays, in which they puff up their feathers and move their wings abruptly upwards.

A esta ave se le conoce como candelita (Setophaga ruticilla).
Se especializan en atrapar y comer insectos y otros animales pequeños. Los machos, que son bastante más vistosos que las hembras con su llamativo plumaje negro y anaranjado, demoran dos años en alcanzar su coloración adulta y son casi indistinguibles de las hembras hasta entonces. Otra cosa interesante sobre ellos es que les gusta decorar sus nidos con plumas de colores brillantes.

This is an American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla).
