1387 wurde das Rathaus erstmals erwähnt und in der Zeit zwischen 1461 und 1467 neu gebaut, sodass es die heutige Gestalt annahm.
Der Sage nach wollte der Bischof von Bamberg den Bürgern für die Errichtung eines Rathauses nichts von seinem Grund und Boden abgeben. Daraufhin schlugen die listigen Bürger Pfähle in die Regnitz und schufen somit eine künstliche Insel, auf der sie ihr Rathaus bauten. Die Regnitz markiert die alte Herrschaftsgrenze zwischen dem bischöflichen Berg und der bürgerlichen Inselstadt.
In den Jahren 1744 bis 1756 wurde es im Stile des Barock und Rokoko umgestaltet.
Das an den Brückenturm angebaute Fachwerkhaus, das Rottmeisterhäuschen, diente den Führern der Wachmannschaften als Unterkunft.

Zwei römische Mosaike wurden in Mittelitalien entdeckt
In der Via Sant'Antonio in Teramo, Mittelitalien sind zwei römische Mosaike und die Fundamente eines antiken Gebäudes entdeckt worden. Die Entdeckung fand bei der Renovierung einer modernen Straße statt.
Den Forschern zufolge handelt es sich bei dem Objekt wahrscheinlich um ein Domus aus der Zeit des Römischen Reiches - vermutlich aus dem 1. Jahrhundert nach Christus.
Die Mosaike sind in schwarzen und weißen Farben gehalten. Eines von ihnen zeigt ein Blumenmotiv, das andere ein Schachbrettmotiv.

This is Belle Buford Thom Collins, born in 1878, speaking about her childhood in 1880s Los Angeles. Her father, Cameron E. Thom, was the Mayor of Los Angeles between 1882 and 1884.
Mrs. Collins' niece, Rowena, is the person speaking in the beginning of the recording.
Audio has been remastered.
This was recorded on November 26, 1964.
The original tape contained several gaps, so some areas begin in mid-sentence.
All photographs are of early Los Angeles, between the 1870s to the late 1890s.
Early on in the conversation Belle mentions the slatted wood as pavements over the mud..she is very sweet this is well worth a listen to 👍 some excellent photos too .

Workers removed the asphalt in Russia, and found this mysterious "road" made of metal.
You know that they always have some fancy explanation to shape your perception of how primitive we were. Good ol'days..
Sarcasm aside, you can imagine riding a horse with cart would definitely be a nightmare on a road like this, and not to mention walking. Those of you that follow this channel long enough know exactly what this was made for.
These metal rods were used to delegate the electricity, and ground negative potential, and the nearby dome towers were used as Antenna receivers. Same technology was applied in many ancient buidings aka churches/mosques/temples that all have copper in floors due to it's great conductive properties.
