☑️Nasdaq revealed that the company might launch cryptocurrency trading in the second quarter of 2019 on the basis of Winklevoss’ Gemini exchange.
The issue of possible cooperation and the future listing of digital currencies was discussed at a secret meeting in Chicago, which reportedly was organized by Nasdaq and Winklevoss brothers.
Just to remind, the head of Nasdaq Adena Friedman said earlier that the globalized payment mechanism based on cryptocurrency will allow cross border payments and will form the basis of the Internet economy. She also did not exclude the possibility that the stock exchange would one day become a cryptocurrency in the regulated market.
It is noteworthy that one of the recent media publications on Gemini stated about the expansion of their staff, what might be directly related to working with Nasdaq.
The partnership between Gemini and Nasdaq became known in April, when bitcoin exchange announced the use of technology SMARTS Market Surveillance to track trading manipulation.

⚪️The South Korean government announced plans to invest $880 million in the development of blockchain and other innovative technologies.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of South Korea, in 2019 the government will spend 1 trillion won ($ 880 million) on the Big Data and artificial intelligence, which is 80% more than in 2018. In total, in the next five years, it is planned to spend $ 4-5 billion on innovative technologies.
The announced investments will help South Korea "focus on the development of Big Data, artificial intelligence and blockchain-technologies in order to accelerate economic growth and secure data."

Vitalik Buterin has posted a 'guide' where he described his new creation: a consensus algorithm, which can totally eliminate the possibility of 51% attack.
A new algorithm requires just 1% of nodes to be “honest”, so it leaves no chance for the attacker to subjugate the whole network, as it would be needed to control 99% of blockchain nodes.
“Independent observer nodes” will be observing the chain 24/7 and detect all the vulnerabilities when the message appears.
With the implementation of this new algorithm, Ethereum blockchain could become the most secure public blockchain in the world.
