Russian National Scientific Center for Marine Biology (NSMCB) of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences will conduct a joint expedition with scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The expedition is planned to the areas of the Kuril-Kamchatka and Aleutian trenches on a CAS vessel. The expedition will use Chinese Fendouzhe, or "Striver" - a 10,000-meter-level deep-sea manned submersible capable of diving the maximum depths of the World Ocean.
