☝🏽 This video looks so professional that some media actually thought it’s an official demo coming from Telegram.

We decided to award its author with a $5000 prize from Telegram. Congratulations, @maratkharr!
Telegram competitions for UI designers start today.

March 10-24, $15000 in prizes.

The task is to redesign the Telegram chat screen and attachment menu on Android. To take part, send one or more PNG documents with the redesigned chat screen to @design_bot. In addition, send a video document demonstrating how you envision the redesigned attachment menu should work (with an emphasis on sharing photos and videos).

We will look for simplicity, usability, consistency when judging the results. If necessary, feel free to change all the colors of the chat UI, including the default background.

We’ll accept new designs up until the 24th of March. We’ll announce one or more winners (depending on the overall quality of mockups submitted) and distribute $15000 among the winners as prizes in the final week of March.

Good luck!
In addition, we’re launching a separate contest for UI animation designers.

March 10-24, $10000 in prizes.

The goal is to create a simple and stylish animation that Telegram could use in its UI to explain one of the following ideas to users:

- Telegram can be used on a desktop.
- Double check mark means the message is read.
- Users can switch between recording voice and video messages.

You can come up with an animated character or keep it as simple as possible. You are welcome to make a 2-color animation or use more colors. To take part, send one or more Lottie-compatible JSON-documents and corresponding GIFs to @design_bot. The Lottie-compatible JSONs are typically crafted in Adobe After Effects.

Best of luck!
Thank you for the designs contributed so far. We will stop accepting designs for the competition at 11:59 PM CET today.

Another winner is @pvashenko. Due to a technical issue, Pavel was not mentioned among the winners published above. To make up for our oversight, we award him with $2000. Congratulations!
Another winner of the design competition is @idanial. Although suggesting new features was not required by the contest rules, we liked @idanial's unconventional approach to the task:
