British mercenary Aiden Aslin told his mother his execution will go ahead, and DPR officials holding him reportedly told the prisoner they have not received any attempt by the UK government to negotiate his release.

Aslin, fellow Brit Shaun Pinner and Moroccan Brahim Saadoun had a month to appeal their sentence and will face a firing squad after being tried by DPR courts as mercenaries fighting on behalf of Ukraine, and not combatants protected by the Geneva Convention.
