Srinagar, Apr 20:(GNS) Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Thrusday announced that due to inclement weather and water logging at historic Eidgah Srinagar , Eid-ul-Fitr prayer will be held at 9:00 at Jama Masjid Srinagar, instead of Eidgah Srinagar.
In a handout to GNS, the Anjuman Auqaf urged Muslims to pay Sadaqah Fitr, which is fixed at Rs 65 per person, before Eid prayer so that deserving people also join Eid festivities .
The Anjuman once again strongly demanded unconditional release of its detained head Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq before Eid, reads the statement.(GNS)

*5 Soldiers Killed , Another Injured In Militant Attack in Poonch: Army*
Srinagar, April 20 (GNS): Five soldiers were killed and another injured in a militant attack in Poonch district, army said on Thursday.
“Today, at approximately 1500 hours, one Army vehicle, moving between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajauri sector was fired on by unidentified (militants), taking advantage of heavy rains and low visibility in the area. The vehicle caught fire, due to likely use of grenades by (militants),” army said in a statement.
“Five personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles Unit deployed for Counter Terrorist operations, in this area, have unfortunately lost their lives in the incident,” it said, adding, “Another seriously injured soldier was evacuated immediately to the Army Hospital at Rajouri and is under treatment.”
Operations are in progress to locate the perpetrators, the army said.
“Further details are being ascertained.” (GNS)

Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNO) Jammu and Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir-ul Islam Thursday said that no witness from any part of the J&K was received about moon sighting and hence a consensus was reached that the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday.
“No evidence or any witness was received from any part of J&K about the sighting of the moon. Hence, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday,” Grand Mufti told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He said the decision to announce Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday was taken after consensus with the Ulema from Kashmir and Jammu region respectively that include head of Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, patron of Darul Uloom Rahimiya Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Qasimi, also from Darul Uloom Bandipora Mufti Nazir Ahmed Qasmi, Mufti Muzaffar, Mufti Abdur Raheem via Baramulla. Khateeb at the shrine of Hazrat Naqshband Sahab (RA) Prof Muhammad Tayib Kamili , Chairman Karwani-e-Islami Ghulam Rasool Hami, from Sautul Awliya Fayaz Ahmed Rizvi, Shia Scholars Aga Syed Al Hassan Mosvi, Aga Syed Haadi and Masoor Abbas Ansari, Muhammad Yaseen Kirmani, Gen Sec Muslim Personal Law Board, Mufti Himayon, Shabir Ahmed Geelani, Abdur Hameed Nayeemi, Moulana Younus and Abdur Rehman Ashrafi from Qazigund.
