El águila volatinera (Terathopius ecaudatus) es un ave de rapiña africana. Aunque pasan la mayor parte del día cazando, también pueden alimentarse de carroña. Algo bastante notable sobre su apariencia es su cola extremadamente corta y la piel roja de su cara y patas. Esta piel se vuelve de un color rojo más intenso cuando el ave está exaltada. Sin embargo, la característica por la que más se les conoce es su gran capacidad para hacer acrobacias mientras vuelan, cosa que hacen en conjunto con sus parejas, y sus extraños despliegues territoriales, en los que esponjan el plumaje y mueven las alas bruscamente hacia arriba.

However, the characteristic for which they are best known is their great ability to perform acrobatics while flying, which they do together with their partners, and their strange territorial displays, in which they puff up their feathers and move their wings abruptly upwards.
