BALL AT SAILORS' COURT

โšฝ๏ธ Seems like an intriguing see-saw battle for the AIA Singapore Premier League title race after Albirex Niigata (Singapore) failed to shackle the equally subpar Tampines Rovers in a goalless stalemate held last night (24/9) at the Jurong East Stadium.

The nil-nil draw meant the White Swans could only extend their advantage at the top to three points instead of five from Lion City Sailors, their nearest rivals in the title race.

๐Ÿค“ "So the ball is now kicked to the Sailors' court once again after this draw and the challenge now is how to ensure Kim Do-Hoon's men don't screw it up again."

#bolasepako25th - NEVER ENDING CLOSURE

Officially closed on 30th June 2007 with a friendly against Socceroos, the old National Stadium only begun the bulldozing in September 2010 with a few more Singapore National Team matches being played prior to that.

Sorry for the re-sending due to some technical issues, above shown are the feedback from the IG users on what they think that went wrong for Tampines Rovers in recent weeks.
IN MEMORY OF "MAT NOH"

A one-minute silence was observed before the AIA Singapore Premier League match between Albirex Niigata (Singapore) and Tampines Rovers in memory of the late Mohd Noh bin Hussain on 24/9.

FINALLY, COACHES NEED NOT TO SCRATCH THEIR HEADS

The following are some of the key points mentioned in the 39th Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Annual Congress (pictured, as credited).

A) From 2022 Singapore Premier League (SPL) season, the fielding of one U23 player instead of three in the starting lineup.

B) No limit on the number of U23 players registered in each SPL squad.

C) Young elite leagues to resume 2022 season (subject to prevailing circumstances)

D) FAS will "put in a strong and determined bid to host" AFF Suzuki Cup

I thought the biggest takeaways would be point (A) and (C), especially for the former that head coaches would not find themselves in a constrained situation and give more flexibility to field their ideal XI.

(to be continued ...)

FINALLY, COACHES NEED NOT TO SCRATCH THEIR HEADS (Part2)

The move to revive the youth elite leagues is a good one and hopefully we can see a conduit in place to allow proper progression than having a fast tracking mode that saw more teenage players in a top-tier league in this season which is criticized by many in the fraternity as a devaluating move to the SPL.

It is also important to ensure the competitiveness of these youth leagues whose flaws were well-documented in the past and hopefully if situation permits, the revival of the amateur and corporate leagues too.

These are my thoughts ...

Till then, stay safe and healthy and don't gather in numbers โŒ

STAY IN CHECK, KEEP UP THE PACE

SAILORS BACK TO THE SUMMIT

๐Ÿ“ Lion City Sailors beat Geylang International 3-0 to climb to the top of AIA Singapore Premier League table on goal difference ahead of Albirex Niigata (Singapore).

๐Ÿค“:"The Sailors made sure they keep up to their momentum and take full advantage of the goalless stalemate days ago at Jurong East."

JUST A SUGGESTION LAH ...

No harm making such suggestion which I seen in some other places, since AIA Singapore Premier League title chasing Lion City Sailors are selling their jerseys on Shopee platform.

SUZUKI CUP BACK TO LION CITY

๐Ÿ“ "Unlike the 2018 tournament that was decentralised, and editions from 2002 to 2016 that saw two nations hosting games in each of the two groups, the upcoming Dec 5-Jan 1 tournament will be held in one country to minimise travelling during the pandemic." (๐Ÿ“ฐ The Straits Times)

๐Ÿค“"Despite the recent spike in COVID-19 infected cases, the decision to allow us to host the region's marquee tournament is a shot in arm, especially months ago the AFC Cup Asean zone matches were cancelled due to the pandemic.

Given such a scale, we shall see some stringent protocols in place for the necessary protection."

โ“Some online sources claimed one of the venues will be Bishan Stadium, and if that is true, we shall see some action on the new surface.
