2 tips of caution about completing DS-260! ⚠️ ⚠️

Tip 1) A common mistake we see each year is when people start DS-260, they enter the confirmation number wrong or date of birth in the wrong format, and they end up trying 3 times. If you try 3 times unsuccessfully, your DS-260 gets blocked. The procedure then to re-open is difficult as you have to contact Embassy who gives you PIN, and then KCC, which is very slow procedure which can take weeks or more.

Tip 2) Do not rush to submit DS-260 if you are missing information, because then you will spend a year debating whether to unlock it again to fix your mistakes. (Examples of incorrect entered information: US sponsor’s address, forgetting a social media account, school information, forgetting to enter a 2nd nationality). It’s better to make sure you have all perfect before you submit the first time so you only have to re-open in the event of a family change (new spouse 💍 or child 👶🏼 ). The reason for this tip is re-opening DS-260 is not simple. KCC is often slow and non-responsive. Also, we have strong reason to believe unlocking and resubmitting DS-260 could cause delays with your processing.
