#bftp9am - STANGE STARE

The former Singapore national coach, Bernd Stange, is seen in this undated photograph, looking at a reporter during a media session.

The German coach arrived with an impressive resume, having previously managed the national teams of East Germany and Iraq.

Despite his good intentions, he paid the price for hastily implementing changes that he believed were necessary.

#bftp9am - IAN WRIGHT AT TIONG BAHRU

πŸŽ™οΈ Arsenal legend Ian Wright was interviewed by a journalist at Tiong Bahru Market as part of the 2015 Barclays Asia Trophy promotion back in May 2015.

Wright was the Gunners' all-time leading scorer until October 2005 when he was surpassed by Thierry Henry.

"It was SOFT!" said 'Wrighty' after he sampled one of the local delicacies at the market.

πŸ€” Do you know what it was?

#bftp9am - KARI RAIDED THE FLANK

Mislav Karoglan aka "Kari" joined SAFFC in 2011 and was a prolific striker for the Warriors during his time with them.

🎯 He was one of the many top marksmen hailed from the Balkan region who played for the multi-time S.League champions with the likes of late Jure Eres, Mirko Grabovac and former Singapore international Aleksandar Duric.

Pictured here is Kari in his debut for SAFFC in the first 5pm S.League match at the Jalan Besar Stadium against Courts Young Lions in February 2011.

NEW SIGNINGS STOLE THE LIMELIGHTS

⚽ Both Balestier Khalsa and Geylang International's new signings found themselves on the score sheet in this Singapore Premier League opener at Bishan Stadium.

Goals from Shakir Hamzah and Tomoyuki Doi gave Eagles the advantage before the break but Kodai Tanaka's brace ensured the spoils were shared equally.
