HUNG IN A BALANCE?

As depicted, this screenshot from the latest Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Competitions Committee's directive indicated the fate of Brunei DPMM's continuing participation in Singapore football tournaments.

NO "PAYA LEBAR PUNGGOL" AGAIN WILL DO

⚠️ You cannot simply form a football club in a matter of months without meticulous planning.

⚠️ The "Seahorses" is one good example.

"REASONABLE TIME FRAME" NEEDED FOR '10TH CLUB'

I shared the following thoughts with CNA on their article pertaining to the possible inclusion of a 10th Singapore Premier League (SPL) club.

"It is hard to tell what sort of benefit (whether) tangible or intangible it can bring until we have details from any of those interested parties,"

"I still think that for any club (that) wants to join the league, a reasonable time frame, maybe two (to) three years, should be set to allow proper groundwork to (be laid) and ensure sustainability."

THE DILUTING PROCESS

Shouldn't be surprised if six import players are to be allowed in the 2024 Singapore Premier League season.

With Albirex Niigata (Singapore)'s localisation, it further diluted the pool of ready available local talents.

Wonder if this rule applies to Young Lions and Brunei DPMM?

ℹ️ The import quota was first revealed by Albirex Niigata (Singapore) on their social pages before The Straits Times follow up with the story below πŸ‘‡

NO ROCKET SCIENCE

πŸ”„ The Straits Times, as screenshot, reported reigning Singapore Premier League champions Albirex Niigata (Singapore) mull over the change of name with its decision to localisation from this year onwards.

It is no rocket science and thought this is the right move to do so in order to gain wider acceptance even though White Swans already have a established working relationship with their local grassroots organisations.

πŸ’‘ Perhaps the new name should include the elements like Jurong East, Yuhua, etc. to better reflect their identity.
