SENSE OF OPTIMISM

โœ… Judging from the unofficial/unaffiliated poll conducted on the platform's IG story, it seems all most are confident of a Lions' victory when they take on Indonesia in the AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final (second-leg) tomorrow (25/12).

๐Ÿ‘ All the best, Lions.

GOOD SUGGESTION, COACH PARK

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ"This tournament only gets better with each edition with more sponsors, so we must use VAR from the next tournament. This will make it fair for every team." Vietnam Coach Park Hang-seo (ESPN)

๐Ÿค“ Ok, so let's be prepared for those "finger tip" offside decisions decreed by the mighty VAR in the future editions.

AMY THE CHOICE?

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ A number indicated Amy Recha being the ideal partner upfront with Ikhsan Fandi in the AFF Suzuki Cup campaign.

๐Ÿ“ Here are two opinions shared in the platform's IG story's unofficial unaffiliated poll.

UNJUSTIFICATION FOR THE GALLANT LIONS

โšฝ The 8-men Lions crashed out of AFF Suzuki Cup after losing 5-3 on aggregate to Indonesia in the semis with the much of talking point surrounding the controversial handling by the referee.

I don't blame the PK miss by Faris, it's too pressurising that no one can withstand that kind of pressure, even Roberto Baggio missed it in the 1994 World Cup final.

It would be heavy price to pay for to be in the final when several key players are not available.

I only hope the Lions can build something out from this bitterness, it's not often they won applause from the Singaporeans.
WHAT A GRINCH, REF!

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ "... Omani Qasim Matar Ali Al Hatmi, remained unmoved as he threatened to be the Grinch that stole the Lions' Christmas." (The Straits Times)

๐Ÿคจ Looks like VAR found another ally in Coach Tatsuma Yoshida after the grinchy handling by the referee last night at Kallang.

STRIKE IT HARD WHILE IT'S HOT

๐Ÿ“ "This fixture was a prime example of what Singapore football can become in the years to follow. The hype behind our national team is real and there is an immense buzz on social media. What we do now matters more than ever. The Football Association of Singapore needs to capitalize on this sooner rather than later." (SoccerKakis)

๐Ÿค“ This setback shall not be seen as one, instead it shall be the catalyst to spur the whole local football fraternity to break new grounds and to a new height.

GET SOMEONE ON INTERIM BASIS TO AVOID DISRUPTION

๐Ÿฅ› No point crying over a cup of spilled milk when the utmost task for Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is to seek an immediate replacement for outgoing Tatsuma Yoshida as the Singapore National Team Head Coach.

โณ As mentioned in the press release announcing the Japanese tactician's departure after steered the Lions to the AFF Suzuki Cup semis for the first time since 2012, the FAS "will commence with the search for a permanent replacement for Tatsuma in January 2022" in order to prepare for the third and final round of qualification for the Asian Cup in next June.

๐Ÿชจ After all, have we not learned from the past that dragging their feet in naming a replacement for the national coach would have a detrimental effect.

๐Ÿ“‹ Even if a permanent replacement is not possible in time, getting someone on an interim basis should be one option to ensure the preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers not to be disrupted after the concluding of the draw in next February.
