🇺🇳 Infographics: Uzbekistan's progress in achieving the SDGs

📍This year Uzbekistan marks the halfway point of the journey towards achieving the SDGs. #CERR has analyzed Uzbekistan's progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 at the current stage.

🇺🇿Uzbekistan was among 170 countries made a commitment to implement the new Global SDGs. More systematic actions started in 2018 and we set 16 goals of the National SDGs and 126 specific tasks necessary for their implementation. The Coordinating Council for the implementation of National SDGs approved 190 indicators to monitor their achievement.

💸 Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for developing countries requires significant amount resources. Disruptive crisis like covid-19 pandemic and global political tensions making things even more difficult. According to recent IMF estimates, in order to achieve the national SDGs in the social and infrastructure sectors, additional investments of $4-6 billion per year or 7.9% of GDP are needed.

📝Developing nations face substantial investment requirements, especially for infrastructure related to water, sanitation, and clean energy. Reforms in the international financial system should aim to provide accessible and long-term financing for such investments.
